Meet Deepti Maurya, a dynamic personality with over 21 years of expertise, certified coach and master trainer. She has guided several emerging leaders and executives through transformative sessions. Read to understand her mantra in life and how it has shaped her careers and interactions with learners. More to learn from her insightful answers…

Can you share your inspiring journey from being a faculty member to achieving the status of a Master Trainer?

It is actually other way round; my journey began with working as Sales executive for a renowned institution followed by a job in MNC that gave me an opportunity to manage a team of twenty executives at the age of twenty-one. I was a full-time master trainer and facilitator before embracing the role of a faculty member. Quite the journey 😊

How has earning an MBA in HR empowered you in your role as a facilitator and trainer?

Learning and staying relevant has been a part of my value system, in fact my adjective is ‘Student for life’. With vast experience in Operations and L&D, doing MBA enabled me to establish myself as an entrepreneur, as a result, I am successfully running my training and coaching practice for a decade. Cheers to many more!!

Your mantra, “When in Doubt, Ask” and “No question is a wrong question,” has clearly guided you. How has this philosophy shaped your career and interactions with learners?

You bet! As a self-made woman with minimum guidance (of course everyone needs some) I decided to stick to this mantra and touch the lives of as many people ad possible. This philosophy helps learners approach me without any apprehensions resulting into effective learning. The clients see results and me, repetitive business.

Do you foresee a surge in change management initiatives across organizations in the coming years? If so, which change management tools would you recommend as essential?

Indeed, a surge in change management initiatives is bound to take place due to rapid technological advancements and evolving work environment. Understanding stakeholders and who is impacted how to tailor approach and communication will remain at the core of everything. Ultimately, prioritizing the human element is key to successful change.

Can you share your unique experiences as both an Agile Skills facilitator and a Business Communication Coach?

Difficult to single an experience, however the whole IT industry follows Agile now and having a deeper understanding helps me connect with the learners and coaches faster. The impact you create is unique when your stakeholders (here trainees and coaches) feel understood. About Business Communication, it has always been and will always be the need of the hour, my practice allows me to transform lives; and there has been many lives I was able to touch, it’s especially the gratitude, warmth that I receive and the coachees, however busy they might be take the efforts to stay in touch is indeed the most unique experience.

Reflecting on your diverse training experiences, from Six Sigma to the ADDIE model, which moment stands out as your most memorable Aha! moment?

Good Question! Strangely, for the longest time I felt like a jack of all trades and the master of none. To only realise how these experiences are inter-connected and helps me in being relevant, be it bringing examples, case studies or stats. Incorporating these into my training helps me create an experiential environment for my clients. If I were to talk about the most recent, one of my coachees was able to secure a stable job in the US right within the five weeks of coaching. I still remember the thrill in her voice and gratitude in her voice when she called to share the good news.

What are your key takeaways for the next generation of facilitators as they step into this evolving field?

I believe, patience is the key—change takes time. Some of the ‘pearls’ (read practices) that I follow are: Adopting a holistic approach by considering emotional and cultural dynamics, not just content. Staying adaptable, blending traditional methods with new tools, and focusing on guiding participants to their own solutions. Finally, building trust through empathy and clear communication is essential for success in this evolving field.
